Before the Disney–Fox merger shut down production, 20th Century Fox was actively developing an X-Force movie written and directed by Drew Goddard, with Josh Brolin set to reprise his role as Cable.
Reports later revealed the film was planning to introduce Stryfe—Cable's iconic clone and one of the most formidable villains in Marvel lore—as the main antagonist.
The project was ultimately shelved after Disney acquired Fox in 2019, leaving comic fans speculating about what a Deadpool-and-Cable-led team movie featuring Stryfe could have looked like on the big screen.
