This Secret Apex Legends × Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Teaser Artwork Is Driving Anime Fans to Tears
Gaming collaborations happen all the time, but every once in a while, a crossover comes along that feels like poetry in motion. Respawn Entertainment and Studio Trigger just broke the internet by announcing an official Apex Legends × Cyberpunk: Edgerunners event with a brilliant, hidden-in-plain-sight teaser.
The highly anticipated collaboration was simultaneously revealed across both official social media channels, utilizing a clever puzzle mechanic that instantly sent the community into a frenzy. The Apex Legends account posted an image of David looking out into space with the emotional caption, "some views are worth sharing." Meanwhile, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners account posted an image of Lucy with the caption, "some legends are worth sharing."
It's a match: Combining the two puzzle pieces reveals David and Lucy together on the moon.
It didn’t take long for eagle-eyed fans to realize that the two images weren't separate promo pieces at all. When aligned side-by-side, they seamlessly connect to form a single, emotionally devastating panoramic scene of David and Lucy sitting on the moon looking back toward Earth—a heavy reference that any fan of the anime series will immediately recognize.
A Complete Night City Map Takeover
Beyond the tear-jerking artwork, the Apex Legends x Cyberpunk event is bringing some serious gameplay changes. Players are getting a massive visual overhaul of the neon-soaked E-District map, transforming the battle royale arena with a distinct, gritty Night City aesthetic filled with holographic corporate ads and deep cyberpunk tones.
Chrome up: A preview of the stylized tactical skins dropping in the event.
The crossover features eight exclusive new Legend skins, spearheaded by a David Martinez-inspired outfit for Sparrow and a Lucy-inspired aesthetic for Axle, alongside a matching suite of futuristic weapon cosmetics.
The Ultimate Risk: Beware of Cyberpsychosis
What sets this event apart from typical skin drops is the inclusion of active in-game mechanics. Players will be able to hunt down and equip two powerful Cyberware modifications directly inside their matches:
- Sandevistan: Grants players short, explosive bursts of hyper-speed to completely outmaneuver opposing squads in tight firefights.
- Blackwall Breach: Allows tactical users to punch digital holes through defensive setups to scan and compromise target networks.
But having that much power chrome inside your system comes with a dangerous catch. Overusing these powerful mods inside a single match will risk triggering Cyberpsychosis—a chaotic state that debuffs your character and introduces hallucinatory visual glitches to your screen.
The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk event officially launches later this month, giving players plenty of time to gear up, choose their chrome wisely, and try to survive the dangerous neon streets of E-District.
