Marvel Celebrates Pixar’s 40th Anniversary with "Up" and Spider-Man Crossover Cover

Marvel Comics is celebrating Pixar’s 40th anniversary with a series of homage variant covers, including a standout design that drops "Up" protagonist Carl Fredricksen into the iconic scene from 1962's Amazing Fantasy #15. 

In the artwork, Carl takes on Spider-Man's classic swinging pose, using a knotted garden hose instead of web-shooters. He clutches a thrilled Russell in his arm while their talking dog, Dug, clings onto his leg. Illustrated by prominent Marvel artist Ryan Stegman, this eye-catching variant will grace the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #34, hitting comic shops on August 5, 2026. 

The playful crossover is part of a broader 12-issue anniversary campaign running through the summer of 2026. These variant covers are purely collectible art pieces and do not signify any official in-story universe crossovers.
