Genshin Impact Players Are Celebrating After Their Longest "Gacha Nightmare" Just Became S-Tier Meta
If you have spent the last few years crying over losing your 50/50 pity pulls to Qiqi, it is time to officially log back in and apologize to the little Cryo zombie.
Since the very launch of Genshin Impact, Qiqi, the 5-star Cryo sword user, held a rather unfortunate reputation. Despite her rare 5-star status, her baseline kit simply couldn't keep up with high-end, late-game challenges like the Spiral Abyss. Pulling her instead of a limited-time promotional character became a massive running joke in the community—a shared symbol of "gacha trauma" that left countless accounts with a permanently benched healer.
But live-service games are a wild ride, and developer HoYoverse just completely flipped the script. Thanks to the massive baseline adjustments introduced in the recent Update 6.7, Qiqi has undergone one of the most legendary glow-ups in gaming history.
❄️ What Changed in Update 6.7?
Qiqi's sudden rise to absolute dominance comes down to two massive changes:
- Zero Skill Downtime: A massive mechanical buff now allows her Elemental Skill to stay active constantly, providing endless healing and elemental application without awkward pauses.
- The Stellar-Conduct Meta: She has unexpectedly become the absolute best cornerstone support for the game’s powerful new elemental reaction, Stellar-Conduct.
The Proof is in the Stats
This isn't just theory-crafting by dedicated fans, either. The latest community usage statistics have revealed that Qiqi's pick rate has skyrocketed all the way to a staggering 40.8 percent usage rate. Not only does this comfortably plant her in the coveted S-tier category, but she is actively beating out long-established, top-tier competitive characters in her exact same class.
It is a brilliant reminder of why live-service games are so unique. A character who was considered dead weight for years can suddenly become the most valuable asset on your roster with a single developer patch. If your Qiqi has been sitting completely ignored at Level 20 since 2021, now is the absolute best time to farm her materials, dust off her sword, and build her out.
Sometimes, holding onto a "failed" pull pays off in the most satisfying way possible.
Over to You!
How many constellations do you currently have unlocked on your Qiqi? Are you already using her to crush the new Stellar-Conduct meta, or are you still in disbelief that she's actually good now? Let us know your favorite builds in the comments below!
