In 2007, a 20-year-old Lionel Messi participated in a UNICEF charity photoshoot, bathing a six-month-old baby in a plastic tub. That infant turned out to be Lamine Yamal, Spain's breakout young star. Yamal’s family had won a local raffle for the session, with no inkling that the baby would grow up to challenge Messi on football's grandest stage.

The long-forgotten image resurfaced recently and was confirmed authentic by photographer Joan Monfort. It has captured the internet's imagination now that Argentina and Spain are set to clash in the highly anticipated 2026 World Cup Final.
