FIFA Investigates Abuse Against IShowSpeed at World Cup Semifinal
FIFA has launched an investigation into allegations of racist abuse directed at streamer IShowSpeed by Argentina fans during the 2026 World Cup semifinal. Speed, who was livestreaming from the stands, was openly supporting England throughout the match.
Tensions flared when Anthony Gordon scored England's opening goal. Speed erupted in celebration, ripping off his shirt to reveal an England flag painted on his back and shouting "It's coming home!" Provoked Argentina supporters responded by booing and pelting him with food, plastic cups, and beer. Despite the hostility—including a beer cup hitting him directly in the head—Speed remained mostly calm, telling his viewers not to worry.
Argentina ultimately triumphed on the pitch. Enzo Fernández equalized in the 85th minute, and Lautaro MartÃnez secured a dramatic stoppage-time winner to send Argentina to the final, leaving Speed in tears.
