Cosplayer @kaorokuri recently shared stunning balcony photos dressed as "Yani-neko," the infamous, chain-smoking catgirl from the manga Chainsmoker Cat. Sporting a gray wig, ears, a tail, and a cigarette prop, the aesthetic is undeniably gorgeous.
However, fans are joking that the look is far too clean for the character. In the source material, Yani Satō is a gloriously unkempt, bottom-tier slob. She lives in a messy apartment, is chronically broke, and regularly salvages discarded cigarette butts off the dirty street to feed her severe addiction.
While the authentic Yani-neko is known for her yellow-toothed, chaotic grubbiness, fans have still showered praise on @kaorokuri’s polished and glamorous interpretation of the beloved, messy feline.
