UBTECH has launched the UWORLD U1 in Shenzhen, marking the world's first mass-produced, full-size ultra-bionic humanoid robot. Designed as an AI companion for elderly individuals and those living alone, the robot is available in three models—ranging from the $16,700 U1 Lite to the high-end, $138,000 U1 Ultra.
The U1 can hold natural conversations, recall past chats, manage medication schedules, and detect stress or fatigue. To address privacy concerns, all user data is stored locally on the robot rather than in the cloud.
The launch has already seen massive demand, with over 13,000 pre-orders secured ahead of the first shipments scheduled for September 2026. As AI-powered companion robots evolve to tackle the loneliness epidemic, the UWORLD U1 represents a major step toward integrated, high-tech domestic care.
